I'm replanting my pasture and want to use bahia, just grazing beef cattle and trying to decide between pensacola or argentina, some of the other types are a little pricey unless someone can convince me to spend the extra for another type. I'm in desoto county s/w florida. Thanks!!

I have three varieties Paraguay, Argentina and Pensacola .
The Paraguay I love doubt if you can find seed if you do you will need to win the lottery to buy.
The other two varieties is a toss up in my environment .
My question why are you needing to replant as Bahia is invasive.
Poor mans coastal in east Texas and you can't fight ma nature might as well embrace her. You plant what ever you here you will end up with Bahia .

I've got Argentina and Pensacola. I'm very pleased with the Argentina. I would not call the Argentina cheap though. It's hard to find any seed this year and what seed I have heard about is running around $250 a 50lb bag. I'm about to buy some at that price though it's worth it in my opinion. I only plant about 8 to 10 pounds per acre instead of the recommended 20lb. I mix in some common Bermuda with it to give me a stand of grass. In three years the Argentina will choke out the Bermuda.
Tif 9 is another good one and a little more available than Argentina but it's costly to.

CB I thought Grazon was for broadleaf only. I never had any luck with it but that was 25 years ago. Don't have any now.

It stops all seed from germinating
Not all seeds, but probably a lot of the "good" seeds.

See cautionary statements on pages 3 & 4 below:

hence my use of "good seeds".
It didn't seem to bother tallow or goatweed seed germination.
Tallow seeds could withstand radiation from a nuclear attack, we need to dig up
who brought the first one here and hang him.
It is easier to kill the tree that only produces a trillion seeds per season.
Lot the goat weed gets planted for you wrapped in little fertilizer packages.
