I've got a mudhole in front of my barn that will soon be visible from outer space if the rain continues. This thing is about 20 x 40 feet. Behind the barn (about 20 feet) is a branch. Could this water be drained into the branch using a French drain by digging a trench through the barn and emptying into the branch? Can you tell me how to go about constructing a French drain? Any info is helpful. Thanks!
