While vacationing in the KC area, took in just a little of the Hereford Junior National on Thursday. Watched a couple classes of bulls shown, and walked through the holding areas.
On the last class I watched, I tried picking my favorites, and then comparing them to the judge's picks. We agreed on the class winner, but not second place.
It was an interesting experience. More Hereford cattle in one place than we've seen of course. Out of all those hundreds, never saw one that didn't seem completely docile.
One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to the Ag Hall of Fame and Farm Town USA, Bonner Springs, Kansas. I highly recommend it. Inexpensive, and interesting.
