I just got back from 9 days in Europe. I went to Germany, France and Austria. I must say southern Germany was beautiful but Austria was absolutely breathtaking. I drove through the Alps. I could see myself living there. I spent a couple days in a town called Flagenfurt not far from the Italian and Swiss border. A special place indeed. The people were friendly, the food was great and the landscape was stunning. I am already planning a trip to return next year :D

How was the beer?

Great just not cold enough

I went to an old, huge restaurant / bar in Munich call the Hofbrauhuas. It used to be a favorite hangout of some famous and infamous people. Adolf Hitler himself used to visit it. It was a spectacle for sure. Seats 1,300 people, live polka band and excellent food and brew.

Welcome back. I know you had a wonderful time and am looking forward to seeing some pictures. Would love to go to Austria. My daughter and son-in-law are going to Italy in October. I just let them do the traveling and I stay home and look after the cows.

Do not move there it is socialist and you would not want that. Here is brief description of the health care there.

If you are a tourist or just staying temporarily in Austria coming from a European Union country you are automatically entitled to free basic health care due to reciprocal agreements among EU countries. You need to have the E111-form that is available from your home country's health insurance authorities. Alternatively, you may be issued with the European Health Insurance Card, which is in the process of being introduced at different speeds in different countries and is an equivalent replacing the E111-form.

Everyone living and working in Austria must make health insurance contributions. Health insurance is part of the social security insurance system. Depending on the type of employment, there are different fee and payment scales. The social security system can also include accident, pension and unemployment insurances. Basic healthcare and dental treatment care in public hospitals and medication are covered, as well as visits at specialists. The cost for an insured person depends on their income and therefore varies a lot.

Glad you made it back ok.
Berlin, Tokyo, and Hanoi are the only 3 places in the world I wouldn't pee on if they were burning to the ground, much less spend a single US cent in.

I would have to add Chicago to the list. :help:

Sounds like a great set of places to visit. You didn't happen to see any of the regional cattle did you?

Saw plenty of these. Some herfs, limi's, highlanders and some chars. Very little angus. Saw one angus bull the whole time.

Waterfall in the aps. Took this one with my cell phone. Not bad for a blackberry huh?

Here's a picture from your backyard a few weeks ago. Beautiful pictures and sounds like you had a good time. I've never had any interest in Europe, but Africa and Australia are on my bucket list.

I was there on business but fortunately I had some time to look around. I visited our sister factories across France, Germany and Austria. I had some downtime at each location.
