Are autumn olive leaves dangerous (when they wilt)?

Never had an issue with them nor have i ever heard of it being an issue and we have a lot of it around here.

I sure hope not. Some of my pastures are full of them, never had a problem. There are thousands of acres of old reclaimed coal ground around here that people run cattle on, and those hills are covered in autumn olive.

Edit: Chaded beat me to it, looks like he's from the same general area. I wouldn't worry about it.

Garlon 4 will kill them. Cut and spray stump, basil spray, or foliar spray. But so many seed in the ground a followup spraying will be needed.

Our olive trees get berries that look like small cherries, only they are green.

Makes great jelly. Good eating after they freeze a couple times.

Didn't know you could eat them. Most game doesn't even seem to like them, I have seen bears eat them some.

Bears break the trees down getting them. Birds have spread them everywhere. None go to waste here animals eat every berry.
For us to like them it will have to frost.on them a few times to get the sugar content high. Then they are very good

No thorns, thankfully. Russian olive trees have thorns, but so far I don't have to deal with those. Probably just a matter of time.

I've got Russian Olive. They're like crack to my goats, and the goats will get rid of them. My cattle rub on the shrubs but I've never seen them eat them and certainly never had any sick from them.
