I was wondering if some of the folks from Australia would mind posting a few pictures of their cattle on this board. I don't want to sound like I am calling anyone out, but I guess I am. There has been talk about those cattle being better than cattle in American shows and it really got me curious. Maybe they are better.. Either way I would be anxious to compare! Thanks in advance and have a nice day.

I wouldn't think there would be much difference, only environmental. Much Angus genetics is sourced from North America, I do not show cattle all of my photos are just paddock condition.

first; :welcome: to cattle today. If you go to the "Hi, Im new here" board more people will greet you, and you can put your location in the margin so we know what to say if you ask something.
We see lots of good australian cattle here o the board, it does not necessarily mean that american cattle are inferior.(at least not all of them :hide: )

Thanks for the welcome and for the hints! I have visited this site more than once and thought I would like to participate in the discussion.

The biggest difference for us is the weather. We have heat instead of snow. We don't have to have barns. Our cattle live out 24/7 and we don't have to worry about them being too cold.

So instead our cattle have big ears to dissapate heat.

Here is this boards Australian thread. There are quite a few piccies in there for you if you look back.

I have posted quite a few photos of our show stock over the years, do a search if you are interested. You will find that the winners of australian cattle shows are more in line with what works in a commercial setting, compared with the american shows, particularly when it comes to steers. Doesn't mean australian cattle are better than american cattle, just that the respective show circuits' focus lies in two different directions
