Is the ASPCA like PETA and HSUS? I always see their commercials on TV but don't know anything about them.

I think, not sure, that they and peta and hsus wete all co-lobbyists for the pig bill that passed here a few years ago. The one that aid momma pigs needed more space with their litter. Made fl a laughing stock. Im trying to find out for sure if it was them

Ok. It appears the SPCA state chapters supported the bill and have sponsored another similar one set for 2012. And one making eating horse meat illegal here punishable by a year in jail. Fwiw

I will take that as a yes. :(

Someone should start a group that tries to make eating veggies a crime. Lol

Among the three (ASPCA, HSUS, PETA), ASPCA is probably the ONLY legitimate association that actually has, does rescues for the benefit of the animals, IMO. They have numerous local, area chapters across the USA. HSUS and PETA are, IMO, basically activist groups that promote their own myopic agenda while only paying lip-service to actual, legitimate rescue and care of animals: they also rain down on just about any MEAT producing group with their secrete video cameras exposing only part of the "bad" meat operations...yes, there are some bad ones...

HSUS and PETA flood the airwaves with "horror" stories (similar to the "adopt a child" solitations) and show only sad and legitimately abused animals...they never promote and publish the "good" operations that are kind to animals.

Thanks for all the responses. I don't get why the groups act they way they do. I'm sure there are some farmers that are cruel to animals, but surely they don't think that everyone is like that.

I actually went to school with a girl that became a vegetation after seeing a PETA commercial years ago. She knew that the stuff they were saying was untrue or very uncommon, but it scarred her enough.

Agree with RAB..its not as bad as PETA and HSUS..but I save my donations for my local Humane Society and breed specific rescue groups. the problem with these national organizations is..your donation goes to God knows where..at least by supporting LOCAL org's, your money stays in your community.
