Article how cows are the biggest polluters in the word.

Interesting but sounds like something a vegetarian liberal tree hugging doesn't know that a man should be with a woman person who should just go and drink some more wheat grass would write.

Cows have been expelling gas since God made them.

Uh, not really. It sounds like something a science writer would write. The FAO is actually a non-ideological organization that does some pretty solid research.

If you think that the production of beef is having the same impact on the planet as when "God made them", then you're simply not paying attention.

Ever heard of the "dead zone" in the Gulf of Mexico?

Ever think about how much energy and water goes into the production of a pound of beef today in comparison to 70 years ago?

Ever read any of the studies about antibiotic residues in rivers near intensive beef facilities?

Farmers and Ranchers have a choice. As stewards of a vast amount of the planet we can become part of the solution or we can let the "industry" continue to be part of the problem.

Things have to change. I just think we'd be better off if we initiated the change rather than having it forced on us?

And just last week on TV they said that termites were the biggest contributors to methane. Wish all these scientists would get together on thier "facts"

I think the FAO report is talking about greenhouse gases contributed by human activities. As far as I know, nobody has a termite farm. Maybe the ostrich and emu crowd should look into this.

I think carbon dioxide is still the number one greenhouse gas in terms of volume, but methane is able to capture something like six times the amount of heat.

Science is about debate, and while climatologists might not agree on all the dynamic of global climate change, there is an overwhelming consensus that humans are contributing to it.

I'm pretty sure that the vegetarians are probably the biggest contributors to the world's methane. Maybe we could do with a few less of those.

Essentially, they are charging cattle with responsibility for every ailment of the planet and mankind. Well, I didn't see AIDS on there, but I'm sure if I read the full 400 page report they'll find a connection.

Last week it was SUV's and tobacco. (I didn't see the one about termites) The alarmists are just wearing me out, frankly.
