My 2 1/2 year old grandaughter came to visit us over the weekend. She loves to go with Papaw to feed so we bundled up to go feed the horse. On our way across the pasture I commented on the new rubber boots she had got for Christmas so she could walk in the mud in the pens with Papaw and the new Carhart coat she had gotten just like Papaw's so she could stay warm. She agreed and then looked up at me and said "I have snot just like Papaw too". Our faces were cold and our noses were running. Aren't they great.

That is priceless.

Last week our grandchildren were here for the day. The 2 year old grandson and four year old granddaughter went with Van to water, since the smaller troughs were frozen over. The 2 year old grandson found a puddle of water to stomp in. Van told him to stop, that his Mama would would snatch Poppa bald if he ruined his good shoes and got his feet wet and got sick, and Poppa didn't have enough hair to lose any.

The 4 year old granddaughter said, "Poppa...you need to buy some more hair."

Last week my dad called me and said "alright thats enough son, ya'll need to come visit and bring my grandbabies for a visit, or else. Its been dang near a month since we seen em." I said or else what you come visit us. Yeah well..we went visit them, ha ha. Mister tough guy who spends most of his time around convicted felons just melts for those kids.

Of course! My Daddy once said that grandparents should raise the grandchildren. I now understand what he was talking about...

You're Dad knows!

A while back, my grandson Layne (8 years old) asked me when I was going to finally start growing hair on my hear, because his little brother Wes (5 months old) had more hair than me already   ...he thought it was pretty funny, but I gave him plenty of time to laugh it up while he was cleaning my manure spreader

Just a little off subject, but I remember when my sister had just given birth to her first child. It was a boy. We were having supper together and everone was gawking over the new baby when my little sister looked at me mother and said,"When should I take him in to be castrated?" My Dad, "Rest his soul", Said to me mother, "When that girl takes that baby to the doctor for ANYTHING, You go with her! My sister, of course, meant circumcised.
