Apple cider vinegar

I have been told by a PB breeder that you can pour apple cider vinegar on bulls when putting them together. Was told it reduces fighting greatly. Has anyone used it. Do you pour it over the whole body?

We have used it and found it to work. We pour it over the back about same as pouring fly/lice treatment on them. It doesn't end fighting but certainly cut it down.

@elkwc We too have had success with this technique. As @gizmom also indicated, does not end fighting but it does seem to minimize the nonsense. On a side note…You can do the same with chickens.

My wife occasionally babysits our neighbors twin boys. They can get pretty scrappy with each other. I'll turn her on to this home remedy.

I tried it last year, but it didn't seem to make that much of a difference. They still fought some, broke a couple post in the coral. No matter what they still have to establish a new pecking order. It might keep them from ganging up on the new bulls so much. Maybe I didn't used enough.

I poured it all all of them, backside and nose.

We have applied vinegar to the new animal in the mix not everyone.

How do you get the chickens to stay on the bulls back?
