Alcohol is a drug, and is addictive. How much tax money is made on alcohol? Is there a difference between alcohol and weed? Shouldn't both be illegal? In my mind if you are against the legalization of marijuana you should also be rallying for the banning of alcohol. If you are for all this regulation in my mind you are asking for MORE government and is somewhat hypocritical from a conservative point of view.

I'd venture to say the people in the know bought into a legal pot farm before hand
I saw a TV program about the golden triangle in CA where lots of mj farms are located
But importing it could be more lucrative

That is true it is legal so there ain't no going back and lots of states are going to see the dollars signs
Truth be told whiskey is probably worse than MJ but it's the principal that we continue to lower our standards for tax revenue
Pretty easy to see where this is going
They have to find a way to continue to feed the growing monster

I agree alcohol, and drugs both ruin lives. It's especially upsetting, when it's an innocent bystander. Wether it be on the highway, or in the home. My thought with my question was if it is grown out of state, and the money to purchase it leaves Colorado, then it's probably doing more harm to the economy than good. Will nurses, truck drivers, teachers etc be allowed to smoke it?

Sorry Bigfoot I was being a smart mouth. In Oregon we have medical marijuana legal, I'm sure legal marijuana is just around the corner, but someone can get a license from the state to grow marijuana to supply the medical marijuana outlets. I'm fairly sure it's that way in most if not all the states that sell marijuana medical or other.

I remember as a kid the only place you could legally gamble was in Nevada, the government got wind of the potential income and there can't be many, if any states without some sort of lottery, video poker, etc.

Legalized marijuana is coming and coming soon.

To add, the drug cartels will just find a new drug to smuggle or more of the same ones.

I disagree, the cartel will just find a new drug...... It may be in the form of prostitution, human trafficking, slave trade. Their mentality is lower than life, they won't stop making millions, billions, illegally.

Tons of it raised here in Ky. Big cash crop for a certain crowd. I'm not sure what it's worth now, but it's got to be valuable. I wonder what legalizing it would do to the price?

I don't think there is as much raised in KY as you might think Bigfoot. I live in the Ozarks of Northwest Arkansas where it was a big cash crop. Not that much around any more. The way more dangerous drug METH has took over. Meth is a real problem which ruins way more lives than pot ever has or ever will. I have never seen a person addicted to pot.

I watched a new documentary on it and they said the retailer must also grow their own. Each plant is labeled with a sensor to document the inventory. The retail outlets have large green houses and they are expanding these grow houses to meet the demand.
