Can anyone that has attended A sale in Texas recently give me an idea as to the current prices of baby calves and on up to 400 lb steers and heifers (Dairy and or Beef). I would also like to know if anyone knows of A good dairy to buy direct for bottle calves and what should i be expected to pay. Thanks dbro

Baby calves were $90 to $200 Saturday. Under 300lb steers topped out at $2.51 and 3 to 4 wt steers topped out at $2.41. Heifers were about .20 cents less.

4 to 5 cwt steer/bulls brought $178 to $208 per cwt yesterday. That is $3 to $5 per cwt lower than last Saturday. Order buyers I talked to all said their customers were balking at the high cost of grazing cattle and had taken money off orders this week after getting possession of some really high cattle the previous week.
I saw some babies split off some old pairs for $175 to $300 per head.
