Although I do not consider myself an 'expert' by any means, in response to the challenge issued by mnmtranching (I hope I've that spelled correctly - if not, I apologize in advance), here is a picture of one of our yearling bulls. I will try to get a picture of our current herd bull in the next day or two and post it.

I like the looks of that bull! We can all pick apart something on every animal and say that they should have this or that. But that's not true.

Maybe some animals aren't meant to have an ass. Perhaps they are a complete calving ease wizard, SELDOM will you have a sleep all night and turn them out on the back 4000 acres to calve kind of a bull.
If every animal was the same it would be very boring.
There are lots of maternal bulls that will not throw extra muscle, but they are adequate in their makeup and certainly do more positive than negative.

The Quantum bred cattle would fit that angle, not real muscular but have adequate muscle but leave sons that are calving ease bulls and heifers that will make your neighbours mouth water.

Nice bull msscamp. I don't know about your challenge from mnmtranching, but I'd say you have a fine looking yearling bull there.

Ofcourse he's a Murrey Gray!

Here are a few of our bulls. Good length and adequate capacity but horrible feet and legs!

I really like your yearling bull msscamp, he looks the way a bull should, butts and guts. I know nothing of Murray Greys, but he is a fine looking young bull regardless of breed, very well proportioned front to rear.

dun - I can't see your pics.

dun-I agree with the overall length of your bulls - and that is quite a cross-section you have there. But you should have your "STRAW boss" get your crew together and exercise them more to help alleviate their 'lack' of feet and legs! Also - that is a rather complicated bit of "branding" you have devised! Ear tatooing must present a real challenge! At least you may rest assured that they will not kick you into the middle of next week - or - butt you through a corral fence!  :lol2:

Dun, I see your pics just fine, although it took me a minute to figure out what I was looking at - I'm ASSUMING the red colored one is Macho - can't read that one - and it's pretty tough judging bulls upside down. :D

Right, the red one is Macho and the upside down one is an off colored (black) Angus.

A good example of what a yearling bull should look like msscamp. Good gut, butt and nuts nice bull!

He looks like a very nice bull from what I can see, msscamp. What is he?

Carhartt_Hunny1, he is a purebred Murray Grey.

Thanks guys and gals! :) Dun, you've got some very nice looking bulls there!   I'll bet it's a real challenge keeping them in the chute, though! :P

Piece of cake, they're used to being kept in a silver corral so don;t get too rambunctious when they're let out.
