Ok.... honest opinions on this heifer please!

She's a December heifer, out of a Simbrah cow and a Maine bull.

good top, good butt, good length, good capacity, got eye appeal. no critique here BL. is that her mom to the right? can you post a pic of her?

Yes.. that's her dam to the right.

This is her second calf, her first was as nice. Her dam is a reg. gray Brahman cow.. one of the best in my herd. I've got four of her daughters in the herd.

I like simbrahs that are colored up like that. always have liked a blaze face and dark points for some reason. from the other picture i was expecting her to have less carrying capacity. but she just has some long legs from her continental ancestry looks like. pretty cow.

Nice calf, should be an easy keeper. In fact if I was close I would likely try and buy her. :lol:what frame score is the cow?

That's a very nice calf. Beautiful color and good overall build to her. Her mama's an impressive animal, too.

Quick question, how are the Simbrah to deal with? Do they make a good cross on British cows?

that calf is long bodied. with good straight leggs . pleanty of ribb to her . nice growthy heifer. scott

That is a really nice looking animal. Good length, level top line and beep bodied throughout. I personally like to see more set in the legs, but she has a really steep foot angle, giving her good depth of heel. The cow looks like she is doing a real good job of rearing her. One to keep.

Nice calf Bull Lady.

But, according to flaboy in another thread, shouldn't she have to "fill in the skin" on her neck? HAHA

It takes a real confident person to ask for honest opinions. :)

Now about this heifer--

I like to look for obious problems when placing animals in a group. I do not see any problems with this one without seeing her move.

I like here length of leg and body. She looks correct and balanced from the profile. She appears well framed for the job and she has good wheels to get the feed and for breeding. If she has the the same quality virtues looking from the from and back, and I think she does, then you have a fine addition to your herd. I would like to have her too.

Real good looking heifer. The only things I can see that I would like to change is her front end. I would like to see a little more extention in the neck (having her front leg forward could make her neck look shorter than it is), and maybe not be as big shouldered. Might make her a little more feminine. It looks like her dam has a real long neck. But that is just being picky, I'd take ten of 'em just like her.

Nice Nice Nice

I wouldn't kick her out of my herd.
She is a keeper.
Deep, long, level with good bone and alot of eye appeal.
Do you have a name for this one ?

Good mom too.
Gotta love those hard working Simbrahs~!!

Thank you for all of the feedback! Good or bad, I'm always open to another's opinion. I think she's a good one, but I love to have others with a less "prejudiced" eye look at them. I've looked at some and totally missed something that a third person notices.

I may get really brave and post a picture of a 1/2 x 1/2 heifer for opinions! :?

Sorry.. forgot to answer your questions!

Cowcop.. yes, her name is "Sunbeam". Named after the bread. I frequent a thrift store, and have gotten her friendly by feeding her bread. She only likes the "Sunbeam" brand.. go figure.

Legacy.. I really really like the Simbrahs. They've done a good job for us, and it's getting harder and harder to keep any in our herd. They generally sell quickly. They are AWESOME bred back to a British bull.
