So in a previous thread someone said that a longhorn crossed with a char= a calf that grows very slowly after about 2 months is this true with those of you that have had experience with this cross???

Really just getting started growing if they are getting any milk but that is the way with any breed. If the cow milks they will really grow. I have had a lot of them with 600+ weaning weights.

Just my opinion dixie.Something to think about. If you have a field full of ANGUS OR HEREFORD cows and calves. They have nothing to eat besides rocks and cedar trees.Never get pampered with feed or hay. What kinda calf would they have?Probably gonna be lucky if they can take care of theirself.I can only imagine how big the calf would be.I have seen longhorns wean 700 lb calves on decent forage. That is a fact dixie but you need to take it as only my opinion.
