Another Country music legend gone...

I was really sad to learn that Buck Owens died on Saturday. I grew up hearing his music on the radio. Around here, there used to be country music shows every Saturday night on television and my family watched Buck Owens for years. I guess he influenced all kinds of other bands and different music, including the Beatles. Funny how the world seems a little more empty when you hear news like that. Even if you haven't thought of someone for years, when they pass on, you feel sad.

Me, too. Brought back a lot of memories. Grew up hearing him and many other great ones on the radio and we used to watch Hee Haw religiously. The Beatles did record "Act Naturally" and later on Ringo Starr and Buck did a duet of it. Buck and his band had a HUGE influence on Dwight Yoakum, who I really like, too.

Oh, yea, Hee Haw. That show was around forever! I think that first aired before I was about 4 and lasted until I was in high school. I lost track of it then. I am sure it went on longer than that. It is funny, the things you forget.
