Angus on Devon

That's a real popular cross in the grass fed industry. I guess it gets down to what type of Angus you are using. Will it compliment the Devon in some way? Should make for some easy fleshing and/or good marbling animals off forage.

Another good cross would be a old type Hereford over Devons.

I like the idea of Hereford over Devons too.

In both cases Angus or Hereford, will the Devon cross always be polled?

Where are your Devons from? I know that Rotokawa Devons are horned. In any case as long as your bull is polled you might get a few scurs, but that should be it.

Are you grass finishing?

You are close to a Trask breeder and there is semen out there for sale.

Grass finishing is one reason why I liked the combo. I thought, or hope, it would raise the taste up a notch. Two ways to find out. 1 is to find someone here that knows, or just do it. One is quicker....

Trask, you out there?
