Seems like I can't keep oak boards nailed to treated posts sometimes.Wean some calves and they pushed a short panel of boards off. They were on the back side.
I nailed the boards onto the posts using hot dipped galvanized nails so the nails wouldn't rust in the posts.Used 10d or 12d.Should I have used 16d or deck screws? The deck screws have such small diameter heads i'm afraid of the boards splitting over time and slipping off.
That was one advantage of locust posts. The nail wouldn't come out.
