I'll start a new thread. it has been discussed before but there are some newbies that probably question our Involvement I manage a business and I never sign out of ct. Monday thru Friday I'm at my desk and I work on my normal stuff and refresh the page every now and then and get a quick view of what's going on. I like the diversity and feel a kinship to most members. I do not frequent any other forums at work. on the nights and weekends I read and post when ever I have down time or sitting in the shade cooling off. It allows me to have conversations with like minded people about different subjects that my wife or kids care nothing about for the most part.

Sure  have another hot pocket and energy drink.

I lurk 80% of the time, so I don't log in. I don't comment on cattle much because the folks that post nice cattle already know it, but nothing wrong with pride in moderation. But I think a lot of folks are barn blind and that opens a whole mother can do worms, either false pats on the back or tongue lashings. Folks years past were very,VERY, critical of cattle and quick to point out flaws. While in those days you needed to wear a bullet proof vest in those days I learned a lot.

99.9% of the time I'm on my iPad, so it's easy to open CT up. I just have to watch the darn auto spell.

I said it in the other thread. (About staying logged in for long periods of time, when I am not actually at my computer.) :hide: I also leave a window open on CT as I work. I do a lot of my work on the computer.
As with M5. I like to visit and read posts of "like minded people."
I have to admit, CT has become addicting for me. (Kind of like soap operas are to some.) I prefer to read, rather than watch TV in the evenings. The medical issues are my favorite.

I check in on CT during work a couple of times a day. I generally stay signed in so it might look like I never leave. I almost never look at CT during the evening or on the weekends. Two young kids and everyday life keeps me covered up plus the fact that I sit in front of a computer 40+ hours a week.

I don't have a life, so I'm always on. No seriously. I have been putting up hay the last few days. When I take a little break, I see what is going on in the world of CT. When you go long periods of time with out seeing people, it's a little human interaction. I don't do social media, or watch television. I get the majority of my news here as well.

I usually check in after a meal for a couple minutes, see if anything catches my attention. I'm with Bigfoot... There's NO human interaction around this place so (and I haven't been to town in about 2 weeks), so I make up a bit of it here.

My "regular" job is over by 8am most days. After that I'm genuinely self employed(as aposed to being self employed but not being able to make my own schedule) so I drop in if I'm in the office or waiting on irrigation water or something like that. I try to be done for the day except for light afternoon chores by 1pm as that makes twelve hours so I don't post much before then unless it's a really slow day on the farm. If I'm posting before 8am I'm elated at being off from the dairy route for the day. If I'm posting after 6pm I'm elated at my current level of intoxication.
I guess I fall into the category of needing some social interaction from like-minded people as much as I hate to admit that. I finally joined the real world and signed up for Facebook but it made me more lonely as I have almost nothing in common with most people on there so I keep coming back here.

Irrigation for growing food ?
You selfish $&@? Don't you know people in the city need that for their lawns and swimming pools
 You'd be surprised how many people here would say that and mean it. Meanwhile, I don't have a lawn and I've let my vegetable garden go for the year. I'm going to lose four acres of citrus trees due to lack of water but the renters whose domestic water comes out of the same well have plenty to fill their inflatable pool. :bang:

since i run cattle full time im always pretty much on.and even when im out doing something CT maybe on as well.

I'm always watching World Cup.

Metric football. I'm seeing lots of press on how popular futball is, and I just don't get it. Run, run, run. It's as interesting as a marathon--but, hey, the last half mile is serious exitement.

Depends on what time of year. Calving season I'll be here before the sun is up, lunch time and after the sun goes down. After calving season, now, its hay season. I only do one round of cow checking, the rest of the time i'm on call to run for parts or cutting hay. Do most on my phone if not at these times. Got my 8 hours in early today, so took off early..I go a long time without talking to anyone other than family. The internet gives me an outlet to talk with people from other areas with similar interest..This group is a little tough...
