I was wondering if you have any probs with bull ripping their ring out or getting caught on something. I have had lot of rings just fall out, when the screw gets loss and works it's way out, but I also had to times I had a bull get it caught on something. One time I had a show bull get it caught on a nail and riped it clean out of his nose. Had the vet shew him up and I ended up not showing him and selling him on the next bull load. Then I had a old simmy bull get it caught on a 70-80 pound log and was dragging it all over the pasture, and couldn't figure out to just walk backwards and it would come out of the ring.
Any other mishaps with rings...I will say every bull I buy or raise I put a ring in.

When we used to show 4 & 5 yr old bulls, we did permanent rings. But for money and with them falling out, we quit with that. Now on our 2 yr olds, we use the clip ons. When we bought a bull several years ago with a ring in, we took it out. There's too many trees in the pasture to leave them in, and it's a pain to call the vet when they rip them. And no one else around here does it either.
