We couldn't buy a rain this summer and now I haven't seen the sun since Friday and won't till maybe tomorrow.
I need to pick my large gourds for winter curing and maybe some squash but other than that I won't probably do anything else in the patch.
We are getting 1/2" rain or more every day, some are getting much more. Just cloudy and dreary all the time. I couldn't handle living in Oregon or Washington! All my maze groups have had to cancel or reschedule :x I always tell them to schedule for Sept. when the weather is warmer and we can reschedule for Oct. if needed, but they don't.
Overall though, I had a tremendous year in the Punkin Patch and can only hope next year is the same.

Judging from your previous pictures of the pumpkins (and cats :D ) your visitors must have had a great time.

I know what you mean about gray damp days, though we haven't had any for a loooonnnngggg while. I'd be happy to take the rain off your hands. :D

Where do those Blue Moon pumpkins come from? Have you tried to grow any of those? Those are some high dollar pumpkins around here.

I have a lot of varieties of blue pumpkins. I don't know that I've heard of Blue Moon, but I had a lot that were 50+ lbs. I sell my really big ones for $8. A story from this year- A guy from Kansas stopped and I had a big 120+ lb pumpkin and he bought it for $8. He had bought one similar last year in KS and I asked him what he paid - #35!! I hear that (how high they pay) from city people all the time. It's still just an old punkin to me, I want to sell them.

We get our pumpkins from a guy who is always on the side of 67. He also sells fruit baskets at Christmas time and we get a lot of those for Steve's work. We buy a lot of pumpkins for our display and the more we buy the less it costs. I think he was getting 10 to 20 bucks for his blue pumpkins. He doesn't grow them, though. He gets then somewhere in west Texas so he's paying for fuel.

I got a pickup load of pumps and gourds for 60 dollars. Next year I think I am going to try to grow my own. I have been researching it.
