What did you all want to be when you grew up ? My sights where set high when I saw the trash collectors riding on the back of the trash trucks. I knew then thats what I wanted to be. It just was not to be though.

When I was a kid and the teacher asked that question, I didn't know. I still don't know. Its been pretty good thus far tho.

Thought about being a nurse but don't like dealing with people that much. Thought about being an accountant but don't like being cooped up inside that much. Thought about being a vet but didn't think I could handle that much more schoolin'. Vowed I would never raise another hog. Messed up there. Married a farmer and convinced him we needed a cow/calf operation. Happy as a hog in slop now.

When they'd ask me, I'd always say a rancher. The teachers would pass out little coloring books with different occupations on each page, and I'd always be mad that there wasn't a page for ranchers and farmers. Especially in a town of 700.

Oh well.

what I am doing now, rancher, born into it and leaving it feet first. well hoping to leave it on the back deck, watching the kids or (grandkids when i get some Grandkids). working the Cattle. A cold drink in my hand and a good dog at my feet.

When I was in the first grade , I read Walter Farley's "The Black Stallion".
I was convinced that I would be a jockey , & ride
win the Kentucky Derby,!
I proudly told my dad of my hopes and dreams,
This is when he started trying to explain "Genetics" to me. :x :x .
He informed me that Since he was over 6 foot tall, I probably was going to be atleast 6 foot also.
I insisted that I could quit growing ,,, Because I really , really wanted to be a Jockey!!
35 years later , and yup , I think you could get about 2.2 jockeys' out of me! ;-)

I always wanted to be a rich womens poodle.

I always wanted to be a rich and good looking woman's Ferrari!!

Needless to say, I didn't grow up to be what I wanted!!!

Maybe in the next life!

I always wanted to be a teacher, and that is exactly what I did for 22 years, and a Mum and have been that for 29 years and still counting, I have been rich in many ways, not money, but love of a good Man and Two wonderful Children and Two equally wonderful Stepchildren, I count my blessings each and every day.

I always wanted to be grown up.

Then I did it, and didn't like it.

Reminds me of a joke I heard:

Teacher asks little Johnny what he wants to be when he grows up. Johnny said, "I wanna be a cowboy"

The teacher replied, "Don't be silly you can't do both."

tut tut now now you know where this might lead!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I was a kid I wanted to be a actress/dancer/singer AND I did want to be a hobby farmer. I was going to be rich and have just two cows and two horses, lots of land and live in a castle. I sort of got what I wanted. I get to act - patient with the cows when I am not. I have been known to leap and turn pretty fast when made too. They love my singing. I am not however rich, have more than two cows and horses and my house is more like the little house they have behind the castle but I wouldn't change my life for anything in the world. I'm happy all my dreams didn't come true. ;-)

Playboy Photographer when I was younger

Ag Teacher or Ag Journalist little later in life.

Now a Janitor and wishing I would have followed my original dream :D

Farmhand, The reason for wanting to be a rich womans poodle is, I could have everthing I needed or wanted and all I would have to do is nothing. No worries,no taxes,no bills. never have to work another day of my life.

I never grew up and don't plan to. It's no fun being a grownup. Life is too short to get too serious about it. Live it, love it, laugh it up. God likes happy people.
