Those must be them "Africanized" Yellow Jackets.

Daddy always wanted to fill up a big feed sack with them thangs and deliver them to one of them "Civil Rights" marches they wuz havin back in the 60's and turn 'em loose!

Timely subject. Yesterday while digging up stumps with the track loader I dug up a big nest of yaller jackets. Them varmints stung me 8 times on my back, face and side before I was able to get away (crawlers don't run very fast in 2nd gear). I exacted my revenge on the nest with gasoline. This is about the 5th or 6th nest that we have dug up since clearing a fence row through the woods. First time stung so I guess I should consider myself lucky.

I thought I was HAD a few weeks ago.. I had just cut a blackberry tangled hedgeapple, and when the tree hit the ground and I shut off the saw, I realized the ground was buzzing.. Once my heart started up again, I started backing up through the brambles (on foot), fully expecting the buzz to get louder and the ground to just erupt with hornets.. Just about then, about a half dozen bumblebees flew out and that was that..

Talk about relieved..
