Air conditioner

Well, you'll have it when you need it! I can't picture it being cold around here this part of the year. Come to think of it, if you visited us, you probably could wear shorts all winter long!

Went to Chicago last summer, needed jeans and a sweatshirt after about 5 or 6 pm... too far north for me.

Mark Twain once said the coldest winter he ever lived through was a summer he spent in San Francisco.

Went to a night baseball game at Candlestick Park once many years ago. Was the middle of July and the temp at game time was 45 degrees. Of course that was before global warming. ;-)

I wouldn't be asking in October-April, but this is July and the temps are 100+, with no end in sight! I want a cold front!!!!

We're 'sposed to get a "cool" front later in the week. 'Sposed to get all the way down to 94.

I know 94 is by no means 'cool', but it beats the heck out of 104 or even 103! According to the forecast, we are supposed to be in the 80's for the next few days. I sure hope they are right!

You know you read all the headlines about global warming and how we are headed for disaster. Pretty disturbing. But I read in Discover magazine where NASA found the polar ice caps on Mars (I think) were melting. They said this indicated a longterm warming cycle of the sun. This was just tucked back with no headlines. Go figure.

I know what you mean. We had a spell of about a week where it was 110 at some point each day. Thanks God it wasn't real humid. I've got fence to build and I just can't make myself do it at those temps. Gettin' old I guess.

Chris

I'm gonna hang on to my warmer weather while I got it in Middle Tennessee. It may be low 90's right now but it beats the winter weather for me.I can't stand cold weather. You can't ever tell what the weather is gonna be like in the winter in Tennessee.

110 is too hot to even breath, much less do anything! Thank God we haven't gotten that high yet. Highest here has been 107, and that was plenty hot enough, thank you very much! I guess I'm getting old, too, because the heat saps every bit of energy and motivation I've got - things get done out of sheer force of will, but it's at a pretty slow pace.

I've seen it at 0 a handfull of times in my life. Usually in the upper 30's for a low in the coldest parts of winter. Cold nights here are in the low 20's. Not too many of those through the winter.

That is about what it does here. Snow, maybe once or twice a year. We get more ice than snow. Like I said, shorts weather for you folks up north!

I haven't felt this drained in I don't remember when. I told Van last night that even tho I was cool in the house, I still felt drained. I'd work 2 jobs to pay the electric bill to keep my a/c running...thank goodness I don't have to...and my heart goes out to those that don't have a/c in this heat.
