Has anybody ever used AgriLabs Stress Mate? Our mentor has started using it and said it is great. We had a calf born during the big ice/sleet/snow/rain storm yesterday morning and we didn't think it was going to make it. Brought it in the house and dried it off, tubed down Colostrum, shot of LA 200 and it started looking better but couldn't balance and stand up....tried to stand up but couldn't. We went to our mentor and he gave us 3 doses of the Stress Mate and we gave a dose to the calf and put him outside on stable ground and within 15 minutes he was up walking. I promise he was an inch from death when we found him he couldn't even raise his head up. Took him back out to his momma and she took him and we saw him suck so he was good last night.....haven't heard about him yet today so hopefully he is still doing good.

Don't know if it was the Stress Mate or what but researching it it sounded like a great thing to have. It even said that you can give it to a calf that has missed the window for colostrum and it will take it and can be used as colostrum. You can look it up on ValleyVet.com i think. Just wanted to mention it and see what y'all think about it.

I thought you only used stressmate if the calf had been out a while, and you weren't sure it had ever sucked? I would have held of on the antibiotics to.

It says on the description to use it before or during a period(s) of stress. If the calf is going through stress then give it to it. This calf was definitely going through a period of stress. We gave it the LA 200 because I had always heard it warmed the body up a little bit and this calf could not stop shaking even after we had it dry. We figured it couldn't hurt more then what it was already having to go through.

I'm sure stress mate is good stuff, but you could give probios, and B complex for half the price, to get the same effect.

And it's not a colostrum replace...just a heads up.

I know its not a Colostrum replacer....I was saying it says on the description that if you give 10 CCs 3 days in a row and it missed the window for Colostrum that its proteins are so small that it has the affect in the calf that colostrum does because it can go through the part of the stomach that the colostrum can't when it closes. We still keep Colostrum on hand bought 2 bags yesterday. Just stating what the description says I only just found out about this stuff 2 days ago that's why I'm asking y'all about it.
