One of the herf heifers slipped her first calf, I had been
watching her closely ( we have 5 calves on the ground from
the heifer pool---- all out of a herf " heifer bull", and have
9 more to go. ) She had been vaccinated for everthing
and seemed to be ok--- until yesterday when it was obvious
she was not well) The vet was summoned and said she had
lost her calf. I had really high hopes for a calf from this heifer, she is of very good stock and was bred to the
same. I will not ship her, but will try again! :roll: She is very
gentle as well as easy on the eye. Plus she cost alot of green!

Did the vet run an abortion profile? You can learn alot from the blood test. We had a run of blue tongue last year (carried by flies) and we slipped several calves. Bad luck, sorry for your loss.
