:( One of the herf heifers slipped her first calf, I had been
watching her closely ( we have 5 calves on the ground from
the heifer pool---- all out of a herf " heifer bull", and have
9 more to go. ) She had been vaccinated for everthing
and seemed to be ok--- until yesterday when it was obvious
she was not well) The vet was summoned and said she had
lost her calf. I had really high hopes for a calf from this heifer, she is of very good stock and was bred to the
same. I will not ship her, but will try again! She is very
gentle as well as easy on the eye. Plus she cost alot of green! :p

Did the vet run an abortion profile? You can learn alot from the blood test. We had a run of blue tongue last year (carried by flies) and we slipped several calves. Bad luck, sorry for your loss.
