Is anyone an expert on or following the A2/A2 milk story and especially how it relates to beef production.

In my animal science class we had a discussion last semester about A1/A2 milk and if there is a correlation in a couple diseases/disorders in children because of A2. What we talked about pertained the book "The Devil in the Milk" Is this what your talking about?

You must be following another email discussion. It is interesting that the beef cattle that work well for grass finishing are also A2/A2 milk producers.

We are goat milk drinkers. Also A2/A2

It is. However in my understanding the child diseases were maybe not caused but enhanced by the A1 milk but prevented by the A2.

I also wonder whether those extra good doing beef calves aren't sucking A2/A2 cows. I think I will test some beef cows and see. If positive it could affect the selection process and breeding.

We came to the conclusion at this time there isn't enough evidence to justify the correlations that the author was trying to make since gut closure happens so early in life and those particles are 2x the size that a human can absorb at that time. If any of it were true, it was based on "leaky gut syndrome", which last I heard hasn't been proven.
