Joe was manager of Douglas Lake Ranch for 40 years and stayed on as an advisor to the new manager for two years after that. We have been friend since 1987 when at a provincial cattlemen's association agm I told him he was just a damn manager and I was an owner. We had 60 mother cows then and DLR was calving over 7000.
