A long Gestation

Just had cow to calf that was 6 hrs shy of 300 days gestation.
Blk Angus Cow X Blonde Bull (AI).
This is the longest gestation i`ve had in my memory.
97 lb. BW & everything went very smooth.

Some breeds normal gestation is 289 days. Most everyone uses the standard 283 but it's breed dependent. Not sure what blondes normal gestation is. If it's 289 that only makes the calf 11 days over and still in the ball park of 14 days early to 14 days late. That's the practical end, but I know they sure drive you nuts waiting if they run more then a day or 2 over 283.
