A Good Day at the Ranch

Well today was one of those days that makes you feel good about ranching. We just finished fencing a new pasture (about a 2 month process) and I put the finishing touches on the last creek crossing this afternoon. Right about 6 pm, I turned the cows into the new pasture for the first time. Bucking, running... Looked like a rodeo. Within a few minutes, they were nose down with a passion going after that fresh grass. I love it.

yeah dont that make ya feel soo good. i just love seeing those fat animals that you think of not even being able to get there feet off the ground running around and bucking so. my cattle are craving grass soo badly. i feel bad for them that i aint gotta pasture.

We turned the pairs out this weekend, mostly to eat the weeds down and we'll move then to another pasture and let the grass get established. DMc
