The last calf born, after we had already cut/banded everything, turns out to be a monochrid. I got him up last night and had noticed that he didn;t appear to be very well endowed in the nut department. I groped the poor little booger for 10 minutes and never could get the second nut into the scrotum. Next time the vet drops by the BS I'm gonna have him cut him. I'm kind of leery of making a cut into the body cavity.

Had a dog once with only one. That's all be had. I suspect bulls can be the same way.

Vet dropped by and said there were only 3 calves he could remember that he couldn;t work the nut down without having to cut into the body cavity. He now says there have been 4.

I would think so. But his full brother (same cow and bull) last year had a bull calf that was completly normal. Could also be what is classified as "da*m bad luck". I assume you're referrring to the calf and not the vet
