I hope I get this right this time:

My how time flies, a 1 year photo journey at the barn. No show pics included because they are on my camera. Poor quality because all these came off my phone. Hope you enjoy.

As far as positions, I hope they have a more successful year. As far as lessons learned and keeping a healthy animal, she achieved that and I am so proud of them both.

Thanks for sharing. Judging by the bottom pictures, it looks like the calf really came along. I would be very proud too. A lot of good lessons and great memories made there. Hopefully there will be some more ribbons coming yall's way this year.

I don't have a picture, but the calf was 483 pounds the day she turned 5 months old.

If you know anyone raising registered Simbrah cattle, this cow would be a great addition, and is still for sale. She was AI'd once, and took, then dropped the 78lb heifer calf unassisted. The calf will be my daughter's project for her senior year.

The cow did a good job.
Are you in Galveston County? some of the photos look like the fairgrounds.

HLSR has a Simbrah/Simmental Cattle Sale. This year (2013) it was on Feb. 26. They get a lot of International buyers at HLSR. It might be a good venue to sell her.

yes. Galveston County. We love that show. Her pig was 2nd in class this year, and sold nicely at auction. She also placed 10th in the project show. I did not allow her to show the cow/calf pair, because we had an agreement concerning grades and she didn't hold up her end. They met the no pass no play rule, but not mom'a rules and I had to get her attention somehow.

I Didn't even think of the International Sale at Houston. I will look into it. Thanks for the idea.

She has touched base with some breeders from the ASA and TSSA, so she hopes to hear back soon. Mainly she is looking to sell to fund her projects this upcoming year. She will have the heifer, a school pig, county pig, and hoping to do a Houston pig. She may tag the calf as commercial for County so it can sell at auction next year. She hasn't quite decided, but as a senior, it is time for her to figure out where the money comes from instead of choking my checkbook every week at the feed store...lol...

thanks again for the great advice and ideas...

Ugh. Stupid phone.
I was there for a few days with the dairy classroom.
I was impressed how the people of Galveston County support the youth at their auction
It is a great fair with friendly exhibitors.

I hope that your daughter has a memorable senior year.
