Butterfly weed is blooming and the butterflies are everywhere.

Speaking of flying critters, the ribs I cooked Memorial Day must have smelled delicious cause they brought in some unexpected guests. This is "Legs" our new pet for the day. (Yeah I know its probably illegal.)

He seemed like a friendly bugger but then again he might have been suffering from bird flu.

After I petted him for several minutes he decided to stay around for about an hour or so.

It's homemade but I can't take credit for it. Friend helped me with it. He has a lot of fabrication equipment. It cooks good and at low or high heat. I can run it at 220 degrees or 700. Also got a smoke box on the side and a fish fryer.(if you look at the bottom of the grill you can see the kettle. Its out of thick stainless and it will really hold the heat steady when you fry fish)

Yeah, that's my home away from home. Its where I plan on doing my anvil repair work when I retire. ;-)

Maybe that bird was after a cold one. Got stuck with a back rub instead. I guess that would be neck rub. I dont think I could get that friendly to a bird with a beak that big. Nice grill.
