We weaned calves the end of May, since then a lot has been going on so we are a couple weeks behind on getting the weaned bull calves and weaned heifers split. Ronnie finally got them split and the bull calves hauled to the home place on Tuesday and Wednesday. This group will be sorted through again in a couple of months, I am sure some will not make the next cut.

This was the first time that the calves had made their way into the feed pen we will start feeding them next week to keep them coming to the bunks and grow them along slowly. We will be sending 6 to the Florida Bull Test but we still haven't finalized which six will be going. While I was snapping pictures Ronnie was busy unloading a trailer load of Sweet Pro Blocks.

Thanks hopefully they will develop into some nice bulls. We have some really nice embryo calves in the group that I have high hopes for but only time will tell. The stud of the group right now is out of our new donor and a bull out of New Zealand genetics, he was a stud at birth and is still looking pretty dang good. We didn't breed for this calf he was in the cow when we purchased her. We have flushed his dam twice so I hope her next calves have the same kind of grow and style as this one. The only negative I see right now with the calf is birth weight, not horrible but sure not going to be a heifer bull.
