Congrats to you all and my prayers to you and your families that you succeedd in this. Breaking habits are hard to do. But with your families, both at home and on CT, you will do well! Take care all and admire you all. I have asthma and allergies and this has been my worst year since i was 19 (over 20 years ago) I have never smoked, grew up in a house full of it, but never touched the stuff. I can not go places where people smoke because it agravates my lungs too much. Most days this past year can be compared to breathing through a straw contiously. I have lung problems and not by choice. I was born this way. I live on three puffers, a pill for my asthma and oral steriods for back up if needed. I have spent the better part of a month taking them this fall. I also am on reactine 2x a day...once a day is normal. At present i am on full doses of everything just so i can do my daily life with no signs of decreasing until the snow is here to stay. For 6 weeks this fall the doctors had me overdosed to keep me breathing. I go in for testing in January to see what allergies have been aggravated due to all the mold from the flooding. I spend $450 a month on medication to breathe and live. Thankful we have pharmacare to cover most of the costs. I have a team of specialists to help me when i am in trouble. Listen well when i say this...it is no fun. There are days when i take so much meds my heart races and i feel like a bag of **** or rather like a washer on the spin cycle. Or days where all i have is barely enough energy to breathe, but i still have to go on with my day. Those who smoke, in time what i go through because i was born with this disease could be you because you smoke. Quit now while you can, while you have a choice, while your body can still heal. Best of luck, RR
