This guy is 11 plus years old.Didn't ask him to, he just did it.

Oh Yeah! For Sure, I was prepared to go get him if he needed help.
He had no problem what so ever.

Nothing better than a good WORKING dog! We've got a couple of 10 year old Malamutes that are just itching to get out this winter and pull a sled till they drop.

Looks like you had a fun day mnmtraching. Just got the report from the husband. They had a ball. They limited out by 10, got some more scouting in and a nap(probably needed that after enjoying the CR last night  , I saw him slip it into his gear) Our younger dog had a great retrieve on a cripple. She had some problems holding in the blind at first. I made him leave the older dog at home to rest his shoulder. That dog still won't look at me (how does he know?)

Looks like Ruff Ruff knows what he's doing. :D

What's your favorite way of cooking duck? I like mandarine duck myself.

Thanks for the comments. It's hard to imagine a hunting trip without Ruff Ruff. Don't really see how the trips and camping would work.

Joe, roast wild duck is my favorite of all foods, Choice "T"Bone is second
For camp meat I take the little brown ducks or shot up[chewed up] Take the breast and legs dust with flour and fry.

The roast ducks are kept whole, I skin them. And stuffed with home made dressing. :D

Tried something last year with some wood ducks.

1-Season them up with your fav seasoning and tie a cotton string on them.

2-Screwed some hooks under the mantle and let the duck hang down fairly close to the fire.

3-Place a pan under the duck to catch the drippings and "Spin" the duck slightly every now and then to cook all sides evenly.

Took about 4 hours but they sure were good.
