Cow was due on 9.9 to Connealy Thunder. Good calving ease bull on a 8 year well practiced cow. She wasn't in my calving pen yet seeing as how she was still 30 days out. Went out to find after birth hanging from her and her grazing like nothing happened. Got her in the chute and pulled a monster calf. Fully developed. If I hadn't luted her and ai bred her when she showed heat 3 days later I would have wondered about my calving date. No bulls in the neighborhood then either except the one I had locked in the barn. It struck me as I was fishing for him that maybe one of his hooves didn't position properly and was stuck under his chest. Who knows.... BIG BIG calf for me though. Very odd.

I guess this time it was one of those "outliers" deals. There's always a few that are a bit off the charts.

Wow that is a really big calf to be that early. Sorry it sure hurts to lose a calf.
