One of my Red Angus Heifers is supposed to be bred to my RA bull on 1/2/10 (standing heat 1/2) is starting to bag and has been standing off by herself the past couple days. The earliest she should be due is 10/12 unless neighbors Simm bull got her undetected back the end of Oct 09. Her birth date is 9/14/08. Other than pen her and have my calf pullers ready does anyone have any other suggestions?

One our heifers calfed early also(early than we wanted to). She jumped the fence. Was hopping that she didn't breed. But she must have, she had a pretty heifer 2 days ago. She done good all by herself. Was hoping to breed her to our new RA bull. WE put him with our heifers the end of Dec. The rest should start calving after Sept. 30th.
Just keep an eye on her because when she starts swolling up it wont be long. Good luck

I've seen heifers starting to bag up a couple months before they are due.

yup. standing off by herself may be another issue altogether.
