Our local feed store has a pelleted feed that is basically 50% Soy hulls and 50% ddg. Anyone know anything about it? Suppose to be 12-13% protein. It is cheaper than 11% corn and was just wondering if it is junk. I know some of you are much more learned in the nutrition department than me.

It shouldn't kill anything but certainly isn't a "complete feed". Just a personal thing but I hate CGF. Soyhulls are great. I'd be more apt to feed the soyhull pellets alone than the combination.

Thanks. Just looking to supplement a bred heifer that will be on average quality fescue hay. Going to get her this weekend and she has been pampered a little more than she will be here and just don't want to throw her to the wolves so to speak. Thought I would supplement her and bring her down slowly. I definitely don't want to pour the feed to her and cause any calving issues.
