We worked with Bodacious today so I thought I would take a few pics. 4 months until show and he is eating 32lbs of 4H ration a day. I am hoping he will bump up to at least 40lbs by mid Feb as that is where Ace was last year at that time and Bodacious was started a month earlier on feed.

They are such a lively group
472 was my nieces steer until she baled on all of us last month, where is the loser smilie :cowboy:
This was 473 in Oct.

I could cut a steak out of them right now :>

They look really nice.. I don't know what makes a show steer, but that doesn't matter to me.

Thanks Nesi!!! :tiphat:
He won't be a year old until the end of March so he has a way to go to being finished yet ;-)

Mr Bo Jangles still needs to catch up a bit because he I managed to grab him from his mom the day before weigh in Nov 2nd. His dam kept taking off with him before that every time I tried to bring them all in form pasture and wean them. :dunce: I am sure come the end of May he will be more than fat fat fat.

Is that you in the pictures HD? If it is, you are doing too much after your surgery young lady! ;-)

They look great! :D

I agree with Brangus cowgirl, take it easy! You have been in our prayers.

The steers look good. Any idea on your weights? You are one month ahead of us; our sterry is an April, our fair is June, and he weighed 889 yesterday. Our first weigh in is in feb, he will come in heavy compared to the rest.
Keep us posted on the progress.

miss hd those steers are looking real good.with him eating 32lbs a day he should be finished out nicely by show day.

Brangus that is Matthew in the pics. Thank you for thinking I look like a 12 year old boy!!! I had surgery but not THAT much surgery   :lol2: :p

We are weighing them all this afternoon, will let you know the weights. Nov 2nd 473's weigh in weight was 815 ,his DOB is March 8 2014. I am guess he will be around the 1150 mark right now. I really want to get him to around 1500 lbs by show weekend.

Bodacious weighed in at 1225 lbs, Bo Jangles 1160 lbs and Lady Bequest 1185 lbs .

The steers got their first clip this afternoon too, it is 14 Celsius out there today. LUV IT !!! :D

Nesikep" Did they behave well for their clipping?[/quote said:
Nesi, I need to switch breeds, mine are far too laid back. A little excitement once and a while would be nice..

Thanks 3way!!

You need to meet our new heifer Ali, if she thinks you have something she wants she will run you down. Was a little scary the first time but I am a no nonsense kinda gal and we got the who is the boss thing straightened out right away. :cowboy:

3way.. .Exchange the Angus influence with Salers.. you will get it.. and you won't need to fix fences anymore, Salers can just jump clear over it. That said, not all Saler calves turn out freak shows.. if momma is docile they can great... My tamest most people loving family is actually the one that has the most Saler in it.. They tend to be 1 person cows though.
