I have a 435 JD 4x5 that got a short in my wiring harness so I disposed of the monitor, and trip the baler according to the window measurement. (5) is what I put up. I manually pull the rope and it starts the tying cycle. I like this way better than the auto ty due to the fact it seemed like everytime you got to near the end of a windrow it would auto ty and I would have to start a new bale, this is bad especially bad if it is your last windrow and now you have no hay to finish the roll. This way you can fudge whenever you need to. To do this you have to adjust the knob to the highest setting on the linkage where it releases and the ty cycle begins which is where I would check first and see if it has loosened off and is the reason for the small bale size. RCP let me know if I can help.
