nice...not too bad. they both pretty nice looking mares. i lost my taste for paints a LONG time ago, though... i lost mine a few summers ago... tried to get a new one who was put together nice, but she wasn't 'wired right'....how are the two of them bred?

Nice mares you Cracker  That paint would make a nice jacket  Just kidding you but I'm not too fond of paints. Easy to look at but I don't want one.

Thanks for the pics though.

are both broke? and at what stage are they at? i really try to hold true to the "no bad color on a good horse" credo, so i'd be more interested in how they behave. but like anybody, certain colors appeal to me and i really like the pics of blondie! :)

Thanks they are out of Greg and Faye Littles @ Little Valley QH. I dont rember the studs name but he was a Pal. Paint, and the mares were some they had just bought, thats why they arent registered.

Flaboy? You would have to go threw me to get a jacket outta that horse! :)

Circlet, they arent broke :( I havent had the time and we dont have a round pen, ive gotten a saddle on the paint a couple times, and she bucks real good, so if any one wants a flashy buckin mare call me up. :P My goal for this summer was to break them, but its been way to hot to get them all riled up, I took the pal. in a couple halter classes when she was younger, but nothing since, and they are both halter broke. Ill see what happens this fall! :) They both behave really good, now that they are older they had a stupid teenage stage, that got me a couple hoofs in the back :x  Blondie got real sick about a 2months ago, she shivered all over while she was standing and wanted to lay down in this one spot, and it took two of us to get her up. So I called the vet against dads liking and he treated her for colic, the paint never left her side, we walked her for 2 days. That ordeal really changed them, its hard to explain, but they seem so different, the paint is still by her side 24/7. And when they see you they will come running up to you whereas before, they would only come if you called them.

I want the paint for a barrel horse, but she would also be a good drassage horse, and the Pal. for a cow horse, she loves the cows, she will stand and watch them all day if they are in the pasture beside her.

Sorry for such a long post!!

First off beautiful horses, especially Windy! My wife and I breed, start, and train Paints and QH so I have a soft spot for tobianos! However, when it comes to their training, you are racing against time. The older they get the harder it's going to be on you and them to get them saddle broke. We have saddles on our horses as young as yearlings longeing them, getting them used to the feel. You don't necessarily need a round pen to start them, but preferable do it somewhere they can't see each other so the horse you're working on stays focused on you. Don't worry about the heat you won't be working them that hard to do any damage. If heat is a concern work them in the morning or early evenings, but the main thing is to work them even if it's only for an hour or half hour every other day. Horses need something to do. I wish you luck!
