A friend of mine forwarded this to me recently. The video is of a .950 JDJ rifle that fires a cartridge that costs about $40. The rifle weighs up to 110 lbs, has an 18 lb muzzle brake and produces a muzzle energy of 38,000 ft lbs! The bullets weigh about 3600 grains and velocities run about 2200 ft per sec. For anyone interested, this rifle has a "Sporting Use Exception". Yours for about $8k. I can't imagine what you could hunt with it, much less carry the thing around but, it's fun to watch them shoot it!

Their hype sounds good but the 2 bore was around in the late 1800s.

Was it a Rifle or a Shotgun?
A rifle. It fired exploding bullets nand was used on elephants. Some of the 4 bores were also rifles, a few with fixed ammunition. Mosrt of the 2 and 4 bores were punt guns and not shoulder fired.
