Anybody reload 300 Blackout?
I'm starting my first batch and running into conflicting things. I'm using Hornady 150gr SP. Hodgedon data center shows 2.235 COL, but that gives me only about 0.157" of bullet sticking inside the case. I measured a Remington 220gr OTM and it is 2.129" COL and at the cannelure. Then I set a bullet just in at 2.70" and was able to still close the bolt on my ruger american ranch. Hodgdon trim length is 1.363" and I'm 1.354". I'm concerned in how little projectile is actually into the case.
Powder I'm planning to use is IMR 4227 and 17 grains of powder to start with.
