30-06 rounds

I like the 150-155 for the 30-06 and a 165 for the 300win mag or 300WSM. Getting into the really overbore 30's a 180 to 200.

Of course it really depends on what your rifle actually likes.

I've always shot 180grn's and liked them just fine. What's everyone's thought on 180grn vs 150grn?

Have always shot the 180 gr. Remington core lokt in the old 30-06.

I have an old Ruger M77 30-06 that is my deer rifle. It really likes 180 grain bullets. So that is what I use. I use to use 180 gr Sierra for deer and 180 gr Nosler partition for elk. Both with the same powder load. The gun shot both of them the same. Now I use a 300 win mag for elk and I shoot 200 gr bullets in it.
A heavier bullet give you more penetration. Which give you an exit hole. Exit holes leave a much better blood trail.
