it sounds to me like you may be talking about a species of Oxalis or Woodsorrel. the leaf looks like clover. flowers are yellow or pink or sometimes white. flower doesnt look like a clover flower. some species can have pretty large leaves. some are variegated, some are spot leaved. ???

The first picture I posted was woodsorrel, but she said the flower is wrong. That's why I went to the Medic family, those are about the only 2 plant familys I can think of that have a heart shaped leaf. The sorrel hasn;t started here yet so I couldn;t get a picture with the purple on the leaf.

there are so many differnt types of oxalis aka "shamrocks". i figured the big leaves sounded more like a type of oxalis. i have pink woodsorrel growing around my front porch and cant get rid of it.

I'm glad we don;t have that kind here. The grandkids would have me make flower bed for it

Nope, none of those-- wish I could post a photo-- It grows in big clumps, from 1 rootbase. the leaves are 3 lobed, shaped like hearts  point to point-- regular yellow clover flower-- seed is in a spiral bur-- the "spot" is shaped like a bowtie on each heart..sometimes they are 4 leaved..photo #1 right as to shape and flower, wrong as to size,markings..I can't find it yet on any plant site

OH-HO Found it!!! Spotted burclover.. grows real good, and fast..

Medicago Arabica. I just put it in the search engine and got it. It says it is in the pea family.

Now how would I spell that!
Guess,as it's a legume,it'll put nitrogen in the soil..horses and cows sure did like it
