3 month old working steers feed

Hi I have a pair of 3 month old milking Devon steers. I have been bottle feeding them and giving a high percentage grain. Is that a thing?

Tine to wean them. Keep up with the grain at around 1% their body weight (increased as they grow but staying around 1%) and a good quality grass hay. Don;t make the grain feeding something that you do when you finish working them, they can become barn sour faster then you would believe. You don;t want them to equate getting the yoke off and getting grain as being a normal sequence.
