My brother and I were going to check cattle a couple weeks ago and these two sows were rooting on this right-away around 5 in the evening. The video is actually done with an i-phone. They were about 100yds or so.

The gun is a Rock River Arms lower and AR Performance upper in 6.8mm. I put a Leupold VXIII 4.5-14x50 with 30mm tube on it. Its a real pleasure to shoot. Being semi-auto and not having to take you eye off the hogs really helps in getting a 2nd or 3rd shot off.

That's a good combination. I have something similar but in .223. Am looking forward to planting season this year cause we have a little surprise for the hogs this year by way of Afganistan. It should be great fun.

Sweet rifle. Outstanding groups and apparently you know how to use it. What bullet are you using to get that kind of penetration?

Silver State Armory's 110gr Sierra Pro Hunter TAC

I haven't shot any #250+ hogs with it yet but it punches thru the #100-150.

It should be a great round out to 200yds. After that as you can see by the chart the lack of BC causes it to drop off pretty hard. If you have the ability to load your own I'd try to find something that would cycle in your rifle with a higher BC something like a Barnes solid. Ideally something in a 130gr would be great. I just don't know if your magazine would handle that kind of length.

BTW the accuracy on that rifle is outstanding. It has given me a whole new respect for the Sierra Pro Hunter.
