Well, I'm pretty sure prices are down at least $.25/lb since 2 weeks ago, perhaps even more.. My 6wt steers went for $2.80ish, some lighter 4wt's went for about $3.40.. I'll get the exact numbers tomorrow... what I do know is I had a 385 lb steer 2 weeks ago go for $3.71 and a 500 lb steer for $3.36.

I was surprised in 2 ways for my long yearling steer.. firstly, he was lighter than I figured by far.. he has eaten only hay all summer, and I haven't exactly been stuffing him either.. he was 885 lb, but he brought a decent penny in at $2.57/lb

Our prices here are continuing to rise however off a very low base so still a long way to catch up. The cow slaughter seems to be slowing and with lower dollar and stronger export markets if we were to jag a good summer things would be very promising. Maybe we will meet in the middle somewhere Nesi.
