I sold off most of my small herd in early 2020 due to an extreme drought in 2019 that devastated my pastures. I kept 8 pairs and sold the calves in fall of 2020. I fertilized the pastures, and got some fair rains in 2020. I finally bought a young Hereford bull and put him with the 8 older cows on April 20, 2021. Six of the eight have calved as of today, 3-1-2022. Started on Feb 8. The remaining two cows look like they will deliver most any day. I don't recall the exact date, but about June 1 I put 13 heifers in with the herd. Hopefully they will start calving in early April. Cows are an Angus cross, and SimAngus cross, except for on red Hereford looking cow.
